Instructions:

For the marzipan snails, quickly knead all the ingredients for the dough together and chill the dough for about 30 minutes. Divide the dough into two portions and roll each out into rectangles (approx. 20 cm x 25 cm ).

Also divide the marzipan in half and roll each out between two sheets of cling film to the size of the dough rectangles. Place the marzipan rectangle on top of the dough rectangle and roll both tightly together. Wrap each roll back in plastic wrap and place in the freezer for about 1hr 30 minutes.

Unwrap the dough rolls and cut into slices about 3 mm wide. Place these slices on a baking sheet, brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with a little brown sugar. Then bake the marzipan snails in the oven preheated to 170° for about 10 – 12 minutes.

Preparation Tip:

The marzipan snacks look especially decorative if you sprinkle them with chopped almonds or pistachios before baking.
