Cut the tomatoes into small cubes. Cut the basil leaves into thin strips. Briefly fry the bread slices in the oven. Mix the tomato cubes with pepper, salt, garlic and a little bit of oil.
Rub the bread slices with a little bit of oil. Put the dressed tomatoes on top and put them under the broiler for a short time (about 2 minutes). Sprinkle with fresh basil and place on the table for an aperitif.
