For the Burgenland cheese roulade, cut Gouda into cubes and heat in the microwave so that it becomes a smooth mass.

Divide the mass into two parts and place on plastic wrap. Immediately roll out with a pastry roller.

For the filling, cream the butter and add the cream cheese and eggs. Finely chop the onion and pickles and stir into the butter mixture.

Divide the mixture and spread on the rolled out cheese. Sprinkle with chives. Cover with ham and roll up. Place in refrigerator.

Before eating, cut the Burgenland cheese roll and serve at room temperature.
