Instructions:

Make the macaroni al dente in salted water and quench. Cut the bacon into cubes three centimeters long and three millimeters thick and fry in a frying pan with a little bit of butter.

Butter a gratin dish, add pasta and bacon, mix well. Mix milk and eggs and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Form over the noodles, sprinkle with cheese and breadcrumbs, put small flakes of butter on top. Bake in the 200 °C (upper-lower heat) oven for 20 min.

In the meantime, peel the tomatoes, remove the seeds and cut into cubes. In a frying pan with olive oil, sauté shallot and garlic. Add tomatoes and sage and sauté until soft. Season with salt, pepper and a pinch of sugar.

Serve the casserole with the tomatoes.
