A good soup can work wonders, – so says an old folk wisdom. Whether as an appetizer at the beginning of the meal, as a small snack in between or as the conclusion of a successful party: a soup is always a welcome strengthening. The Bavarians love strong soups, therefore also the Bavarian Bock- Beer soup is a little bit for hard men and – women, who like to serve soup together with hard men 😉 The onion, the carrots, the radish as well as the potatoes are peeled and given with the washed leek as well as the celery small cut into a soup pot. This is poured with beer and clear soup. Add nutmeg, salt, pepper, thyme and bay leaf spices. Let it simmer for about half an hour on low heat. Stir the soup once in a while and sprinkle with chervil before serving.
