Stir the crumbled yeast with a little lukewarm milk. Mix the flour with the spices and then add the soft fat, milk and yeast milk to the flour with a hand mixer and knead together.
Stir in ham and cheese. Let the dough rise.
Brush the hot waffle iron with a little bit of oil. Spread 2 tablespoons of batter on the iron and bake the waffles.
